Many of us move through life and often take the people around us for granted until that is, something happens. In the end of the day it all comes down to relationships in one form or another. Have you ever heard of someone lying on their death bed talking about that great deal they did, or the car they owned? I don’t think so. This is a short, simple and yet powerful reminder to STOP and tell the people around us how we really FEEL about them. PLEASE SHARE IF YOU LIKE...
Read MoreThis is the first time I have ever posted another video on my site! I believe the time has come that the famous, the rich, the successful, the gurus, the olympians, the authors, the speakers, the stars, and the others we have placed on pedestals for years to allow us to see the truth of their lives. As I have said for years its not that we are mislead by what they are saying but rather mislead by what they are not telling us. This leads millions of people to emulate their hero’s but we only get to see or hear from 50% of the hero. Then we are left wondering years down the road 1) why am I not happy? 2) why did my hero let me down? 3) is that actually the life I want? 4) is this my dream or someone else’s? 5) is my life truly authentic? This is not to show they have weaknesses to in some way try and make us feel better, but to allow us to see they are human, just like the rest of us. Thanks Robert De Niro for being real! Read MoreLast week I went along to see Oprah Winfrey speak in Vancouver. Apart from being one of very few men in the room it was interesting to see a women who has influenced so many people over the last 25 years on television share her story. I decided to share my insights from her talk and add my own twist to the message she delivered....
Read MoreThis is a keynote I did late last year in Mexico at a conference called Awesomeness Fest. I decided to go with a message that I feel very strongly about. You will see that I engage with a LOT of emotion around this subject and the audience really engaged with the message. Its the kind of presentation that might leave you with more questions than answers. As long as they are better questions then I am happy. Enjoy! and if you do please share it with...
Read MoreThe two most common types of people I meet when it comes to Taking Action or not, are the following: 1. The Procrastinator – The person who thinks they are lazy or put off the next step for some internal mental reason. Personally I think this is BS and comes from a place of pure judgment. It smells of a) I am not good enough or b) I am broken. 2. The Perfectionist – The person who needs to know the outcome before they take that step. They need their ducks in a row but not just any row. The row needs to be perfectly aligned before they make that move. These two types of people will always suffer from a lack of clarity in life. Why? Because they are not in touch with their own internal guidance system, their intuition. In this video I invite you to put aside the need to know and trust a little more. IF YOU LIKE, PLEASE...
Read More“People who only look forward, are blind” – Philip McKernan People who are always moving, always busy and don’t stop, are running from something. Whether that’s something in their past or something in their reality, they think if they keep moving they will stay ahead. Wrong! Despite that fact that there is little logic to this, when you stop and look back you can actually see further. Our stories leave clues which remain uncovered unless we look for them. In this video I try to explain the importance of looking (not lingering) in your past and how it will affect your future. PLEASE SHARE IF YOU...
Read MoreQ. What do Lexus and Olympic Athletes have in common? A. They both mistakenly pursue perfection! For many this makes no sense. Surely the pursuit of perfection stretches us to be the best we can be in that area. Surely giving up on the notion of perfection in a certain area of life is in some way defeatist and therefore a giving up on that area as a result. Wrong! As you know I love to question the norm and having sat with the notion of perfectionism (which by the way we all have within us), I am seeing it a little differently. In this video I will attempt to give you a different perspective on being perfect and challenge you to ‘let go’ a little of the pressure and scarcity that drives us to chase perfect. Ironically if we can let go a little we will ease more into a place of flow and in turn achieve better results in that area. This video was inspired by my experience at the London Olympics this summer. Please share this video if you like...
Read MoreWhat has the 2012 Euro Soccer finals and your values got in common? Maybe more than you think! In order to live a truly authentic and fulfilling life we must reconcile the way we talk about and live by our values every day. In this video Philip explains the disconnect when we have a set of values we choose not to live by. Please consider sharing this video if you like it....
Read MorePersonally I love the power of simple and real questions about the lives we live now. How Authentic is My Life? is one of those and for me was not necessarily a total game changer but rather a simple but very real insight into how I was dishonouring an aspect of who I am at the core by living an unauthentic aspect of a retreat experience I run. Have a look at this video and see where in your life you live unauthentically and how this could be undermining you. Please forward this video if you feel someone you know would...
Read MoreOne question I get a LOT from people is how do I get my partner on the same page? Intellectually is sounds like a logical question and seems to make sense and even sounds like a caring and wise question. It’s not! It screams of control and is not necessarily a healthy goal to want in your relationship. Another way of asking the same question is – How do I change my partner? In this video Philip will touch on the subject and give a different perspective. Please consider sharing this video or leave a comment...
