“Come to the edge,” he said. “We can’t, we’re afraid!” they responded.
“Come to the edge,” he said. “We can’t, We will fall!” they responded.
“Come to the edge,” he said. And so they came. And he pushed them. And they flew.”

Guillaume Apollinaire

Philip McKernan has built a reputation for his unapologetic approach to working with entrepreneurs, leaders, and athletes all over the world, who all believe, there is more for them, and in one form or another, want to live a more courageous life. Philips’ mastery is helping people connect – connect to the work they were put here to do. His pioneering philosophy SoulSet™ , equips and empowers people to uncover their unique gifts (not talents) and use them to impact the world.

He has a knack for getting into all sorts of scenarios – he’s caddied in golf for the President of Ireland, been chased and nearly killed by a bull elephant in Nigeria, and made wine in Australia. He has traveled to 85 countries around the globe, built an orphanage in Peru, written 5 books despite being dyslexic, and created a documentary film called Give & Grow.

He has spent the last 3 years restoring a 500-year-old castle set on 22 acres of Celtic rainforest on Ireland’s west coast. BraveCastle welcomes leaders from all over the world who come for deep immersive retreats. Philips’ flagship retreat BraveSoul is the place to start if you want to connect to your why, begin to uncover your gift, and explore living a meaningful legacy. Philip believes the deeper you go, the higher you fly.

Philip is an extraordinarily gifted life-coach who guides people in their instinctive quest to be more authentically “connected” to themselves, others, and their life purpose.

He enables people to get out of their heads, and into their hearts, where real knowing and change occurs. Most importantly, he leads by example and walks his talk. Philip’s exceedingly grounded, humble and deeply personal approach are possibly the most powerful aspects of his delivery, and fosters an extremely safe and comfortable atmosphere to do this kind of work.

How to Uncover Your Soul’s Work

We host clients in our castle in the West of Ireland, located in a very special place called the Burren.

The Burren is renowned for Celtic myth, folklore, archaeology, art and poetry. It’s a place full of contradictions, the perfect location to host our work helping people to discover, connect, realign and get clarity.

Our castle’s origins can be traced back to the 14th century, when it served as a central stronghold in a region filled with similar fortifications. This centrality indicates that it played a crucial role in fortifying the family’s defenses against rival clans (families). In fact, it was occupied by the ruling family of the kingdom, where the prince of the realm resided. It stood as the epicenter of leadership, a place where leaders convened at the heart of the kingdom’s governance.

During the 1950s JRR Tolkien, author of the The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings visited the West of Ireland several times and one occasion visited the Burren with friend CS Lewis, author of the Narnia chronicles. Apparently after his return home, Tolkien rewrote parts of the Lord of the Rings, having found inspiration from the misty mountains and lunar landscape of the Burren.
